Wasatch Public Media (“WPM”) is a Utah non-profit corporation formed on September 12, 2007 for the sole purpose of acquiring KCPW from Community Wireless of Park City (“CW”), a Utah non-profit corporation. WPM began operating KCPW on May 1, 2008 through an operating agreement with CW. The purchase of KCPW was completed on September 24, 2008.
Ed Sweeney, Esq., President and CEO
Ed is President and founder of Wasatch Public Media. Ed has been an active member of the Utah State Bar for 32 years. Ed practiced law for ten years prior to joining Westminster College of Salt Lake City as General Counsel and Vice President of Development. He has worked as an executive in a national fund-raising consulting firm as well as founding his own Utah based fund-raising firm in 1993. Ed has been involved with KCPW since it went on the air in 1993 as a consultant, donor and volunteer. Ed graduated from Westminster with a BA in Behavioral Science and received his JD from Santa Clara University.

Jennifer Milner, EdM, Board Chair
Jennifer has been a KCPW listener, volunteer, and supporter since she moved to Salt Lake City in 2002. A native of Chicago, Jennifer is a Project Manager at Allen Communication Learning Services in Salt Lake City creating online training courses for clients such as Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb and LexisNexis. She has also overseen IT and web development projects for nonprofits and corporations including London Fog, Pacific Trail, Harvard University, and the Washington Women’s Education Foundation. Jennifer has a Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelors of Arts in Media Studies from The Evergreen State College. Jennifer has yet to miss a KCPW pledge drive.
Mark Wagner, Esq.
Mark is a shareholder of the Utah-based law firm VanCott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, P.C., and is Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. Mark received his J.D. degree, Order of the Coif, from the University of Utah College of Law (now the S.J. Quinney College of Law), and his B.S. degree, cum laude, in Business Management from the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business. Mark was born in Papua New Guinea, and grew up in Chatham, Illinois. Mark later moved to Utah, where he has now lived a majority of his life. Mark began listening to public radio, in general, during college, and to KCPW, in specific, in 1993.
John became a full member of the Board of Directors during his term as Chair of the Council. He is a tax examiner with the IRS but his primary focus is Vice President of Chapter 67 of the National Treasury Employee’s Union, which represents over 6000 local Federal Employees. John is involved as a mediator in grievance procedures and as the Legislative Director. John is a native of Ogden, Utah and has been a KCPW supporter and listener since 2003 .
Aaron became a full member of the Board of Directors during his term as Chair of the Council. He is a Logistics Specialist with SSA Marine, an international cargo logistics company. Aaron has also worked in the media arts industry for numerous commercial and non-commercial radio stations as a producer and board operator. Aaron is a graduate of the University of Utah with a BS in Sociology and has been an active KCPW supporter and listener since 1999.
Tim grew up in Texas and California where he wrote stories for high school and college campus newspapers. He has been married 39 years to his wife, Cathy. Tim has been a Political Science professor at the U of U since 1988 where he teaches courses in Politics, Government and Law. He listens to NPR every day and is a news junkie. He has participated in programs on KCPW and KUER several times.
Steve joined the Wasatch Public Media board in July 2013. He has enjoyed public radio for years. As an early listener, he helped shape the BBC’s World Have Your Say as well as NPR’s Tell Me More and The Bryant Park Project. He works in web development and marketing. In his personal life, he enjoys running, eating Vietnamese food, and wearing bow ties. A proud Texan by birth, Steve is happy to live in Utah. After starting his undergraduate work at Penn State Abington, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brigham Young University and a Master of Information Management from the University of Maryland.
Mason is the Head Trader at Albion Financial as well serving as an Adjunct Professor of Finance in the Gore School of Business at Westminster College. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Westminster and a Bachelor of Science, Finance from the Gore School of Business. A long time listener and supporter of public radio, Mason enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, as well as skiing and biking in the mountains.

Notice of Public Meetings
Commencing October 1, 2009, Notice of Wasatch Public Media Board of Director meetings and Friends of KCPW Council meetings, including time and place, will be posted at this site at least seven days prior to the meetings. All meetings are open to the public. Minutes of the meetings will be placed in the Public File at KCPW and can be viewed during normal business hours of the station.
