Wasatch Public Media (“WPM”) is a Utah non-profit corporation formed on September 12, 2007 for the sole purpose of acquiring KCPW from Community Wireless of Park City (“CW”), a Utah non-profit corporation. WPM began operating KCPW on May 1, 2008 through an operating agreement with CW. The purchase of KCPW was completed on September 24, 2008.
Current Board Members
Paul Bruno is a marketing and creative entrepreneur who fulfills the printing, promotional products and decorated apparel requirements for some of the most prestigious corporations and institutions in the Intermountain West through his company, Bruno Group Signature Events. Paul has actively participated as a volunteer and/or board member with several public entities over the past 35 years and was instrumental in expanding the reach and programming of one of Northern California’s premier public radio stations, KHSU. Upon relocating to Utah in 1984, Paul became a dedicated volunteer at KPCW and participated in the discussions and planning sessions that eventually led to the formation of KCPW.
Tim grew up in Texas and California where he wrote stories for high school and college campus newspapers. He has been married 39 years to his wife, Cathy. Since 1988, Tim has been a Political Science professor at the University of Utah where he teaches courses in Politics, Government and Law. Through the years, Tim has participated in various local and national public radio programs as a commentator or guest expert. He listens to public radio every day and is a self-described news junkie.
For the past decade, Glen has taught news writing, editing, environmental reporting and media ethics (among other courses) at the University of Utah. Prior to this, he spent more than 15 years as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers in Nevada, Ohio, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Glen has advised the campus chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and served on the board of the Utah Headliners (professional) chapter of the SPJ. He is the Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Utah’s Department of Communication.
Dave joined the WPM board in 2014 and has been a public radio listener for over 30 years. He is the Director of Global Product Marketing for GE’s Surgery business, which is based in Salt Lake City. Born in Ohio, Dave lived in five different states as well as two cities in Germany before moving to Utah 14 years ago. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy. With his wife and daughters, he enjoys all the things Utah’s cultural and outdoor activities provide – from the Ballet to the ski slopes.
Dr. Nalini Nadkarni joined the KCPW board in 2016. She is a Professor of Biology at the University of Utah, and is a forest ecologist who studies rainforest canopies in Costa Rica, Washington, and Utah. She is a passionate communicator about nature and science to people in all walks of life, and has led innovative science engagement and conservation programs that bring lectures and conservation projects to non-traditional public audiences such as faith-based groups, urban youth, modern dancers, rap singers, legislators, and incarcerated men and women. She has written over 100 scientific articles and three books. Her recent awards include the National Science Foundation Public Service Award, the AAAS Award for Public Engagement, and the Archie Carr Medal for Conservation.
Shundana Yusaf is an architectural historian at the University of Utah’s School of Architecture. She studied architecture at National College of Arts, Lahore, and architectural history at Harvard, MIT, and Princeton University. Shundana’s first book Broadcasting Buildings: Architecture on the Wireless, 1927-1945 is the first detailed exploration of the fate of architecture in the age of wireless listening. She is now working on a book length architectural history of Utah, from ancient caves to digital fabrication. A KCPW board member since 2014, Shundana brings extensive knowledge of public radio’s engagement with academia, politics, and different cultural domains in the twentieth and twenty first century.

Notice of Public Meetings
Commencing October 1, 2009, Notice of Wasatch Public Media Board of Director meetings and Friends of KCPW Council meetings, including time and place, will be posted at this site at least seven days prior to the meetings. All meetings are open to the public. Minutes of the meetings will be placed in the Public File at KCPW and can be viewed during normal business hours of the station.
