Big Time Retailers Talk About Making Trolley Home
None by KCPW
(KCPW News) As ScanlanKemperBard begins redevelopment of Trolley Square, expect to see many national retailers moving in, says Todd Gooding, Principal in SKB."We've approached Tommy Bahama. We've approached Urban Outfitters," confirms Gooding. "There have been a number of tenants like that that we have approached."
Although no contracts have been inked, Gooding also confirms talks with other national retailers like Crate and Barrel, Whole Foods and Cheesecake Factory. SKB plans to bring in many new attractions, says Gooding, but the company is dedicated to historic preservation and maintaining Trolley's unique flavor.
"Our intent is to continue that charm but upgrade the interior of the property," Gooding says. "We don't plan on addressing any of the exterior facades at all, except for maybe enhancing above each parapet where there used to be a Salt Lake insignia and I think we plan on bringing that back to the asset."
According to Gooding, SKB will present its construction plans to the city and community councils within the next six months, with construction to follow Spring of 07. For more information about this project you can listen to the entire Midday Metro interview at kcpw.org.

I hope Trolley's redevelopment goes great! It's amazing how many former Crossroads Plaza tenants ended up there. It's a unique space, and if I had lots of $$$, it would be a great place to shop.
I heard in a KCPW Community Forum that Crate & Barrel would be moving into Sugar House? Any word on that?
