Election Dust Up In Iron County

Some Accuse Candidates Of Rigging Republican Nomination

(KCPW News)  Tempers are flaring in Southern Utah over a Republican candidate for the State Senate and how he filed for office. Senator Tom Hatch announced he would not seek re-election, and Iron County Commissioner Dennis Stowell filed for the seat on the final day. The two then issued a joint press release - igniting a firestorm from critics who say the two rigged the Republican nomination.
The St. George Spectrum reports today that some Republican precinct members in Cedar City filed a written complaint about the process.
Stowell, for his part, denies any collusion with Hatch, and tells KCPW's Bryan Schott that he did not do anything wrong.
