Colorado River Basin Facing Worst Drought In A Century
(KCPW News) The Colorado River Basin has suffered from severe drought over much of the last decade and the Bureau of Reclamation is now presenting alternatives on how to deal with these water shortages.A public meeting will be held tomorrow night for concerned citizens to weigh in on the proposed guidelines of the bureau's draft environmental impact statement. The draft EIS includes four alternatives to deal with shortages in both Lake Mead and Lake Powell.
Stacey Carroll, a Public Affairs Specialist for the Bureau of Reclamation, says to this point there are no clear strategies to deal with water shortages in the Colorado River Basins.
Tomorrow's meeting will be held at the Salt Lake City Hilton from 6 to 9 p.m.
