Open Space Effort Ends in Disappointment

(KCPW News) Residents of Wasatch Hollow on the east side of Salt Lake City have spent more than a year trying to preserve a swath of open space that cuts through their community. It's a rare piece of untouched land in the heart of the city along the banks of Emigration Creek. Neighbors affectionately call it "the gully." Preservation efforts have been shaped by grand vision and deep divisions, and as KCPW's Julie Rose reports, it may all have been for naught:
