New System in SLC To Make License Acquisitions Simpler

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Salt Lake City is spending nearly one and a half million dollars on software to streamline the city's application process for business and building permits. Applicants will need to make just one stop instead of visiting up to seven city departments.

The software makes applicant information available to Building Services, Business Licensing and Planning and Zoning, among other departments. Applicants will also be able to check the status of their applications, as well as obtain land use information, through the Internet.

The new system is expected to be in place in about a year. The money for the software was approved in the city budget for this fiscal year.
