SLC Voter Turnout Average for Primary Election

Turnout Similar to Mayoral Race of '03
(KCPW News) Salt Lake City Voter turnout for yesterday's primary election was 28.87%, an increase of 0.4 percent from the last mayoral election in 2003. All totaled, just over 27,000 Salt Lake City voters ventured to the voting booth.In Salt Lake City's mayoral race, Ralph Becker advanced by claiming 38.5% of the vote. His opponent will be Salt Lake City Council member Dave Buhler, who claimed just under 28%.
Three seats on the Salt Lake City Council will be up for grabs during the November 6th general election. In District 4, incumbent Nancy Saxton will face University of Utah Political Science Professor Luke Garrott.
The city council race for Dave Buhler's seat in District 6 will feature litigator Roger J. McConkie against Emigration Market owner J.T. Martin.
