Buhler, Becker Race for Mayor's Seat

None by KCPW

It's down to one Democrat and one Republican in the race for Salt Lake City's next mayor. KCPW's Julie Rose reports:

It's down to one Democrat and one Republican for Salt Lake City's next mayor. Democratic State Lawmakers Ralph Becker and Republican City Councilman Dave Buhler emerged from yesterday's primary and will face off on November 6th. The mayor's seat is technically non-partisan, but Salt Lake City hasn't elected a Republican mayor since Jake Garn in the 1970s.

Salt Lake County Council member Jenny Wilson trailed with 23 percent. Businessman Keith Christensen ended with only 8 percent of the vote, despite strong fundraising and a high-profile endorsement from Mayor Rocky Anderson.
