(KCPW News) One of the world's foremost historians and biographers visited Utah last week for a luncheon of the Utah League of Cities and Towns. David McCullough is best known for his books 1776 and John Adams and Truman. Speaking to an overflow audience of city officials, the Pulitzer prize-winning author praised the practice of diary-keeping and letter-writing. And he lamented the demise of both in modern times. Here is an excerpt of McCullough's speech:
