Group Forming Plan To Revitalize The Jordan River

(KCPW News) Salt Lake County is funding new research with the goal of creating a new vision for the Jordan River. "Blueprint Jordan River: A Lake-to-Lake Vision" will be produced by Envision Utah and will focus on two areas; improving the river's aesthetics and recreational opportunities, and economic development along the river.

Project Planner Jason Green of Envision Utah says one of the major challenges will be getting the 15 cities and three counties the river runs through on board with the project. Blueprint Jordan River's research teams will begin working in October. Public workshops are scheduled for the late winter or early spring to get the public's ideas on the river. They hope to have a working vision for the river completed by September of next year.
