District 2 Challenger Says City Council Sidetracked West Side Light Rail

(KCPW News) District 2 Challenger Michael Clara says when it comes to light rail and speed bumps, Salt Lake City's west side is on the wrong side of the TRAX.
Clara is a transit planner for the Utah Transit Authority and the man looking to unseat Van Turner on the city council. He says the city council has not done enough to stand up for Poplar Grove and Glendale.
Clara criticized the city council for putting a moratorium on speed bumps due to east side concerns. He also says some east side representatives have failed to make the western portion of an east-west light rail line a priority.
Officials originally planned for the east-west light rail line to run down 400 West to the airport, contends Clara. Now the line might be moved to 600 West to suit developers. That's a sign, Clara says, that the city council doesn't keep its promises to west side residents.
