(KCPW News) The Utah Health Policy Project will learn Monday if it has been chosen as one of ten recipients of a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to continue working towards health care reform in Utah. The grant would be worth $250,000 a year for the next three years. UHPP Executive Director Judi Hilman says getting the grant would mean a huge financial boost to the fight for healthcare reform in Utah. Other community funders, including the LDS Church Foundation, have pledged to match the RWJ grant.
The money would go towards education and civic engagement activities and a study to determine the economic impact of covering all of Utah's uninsured with sustainable financing. Some dollars will go to other health care reform organizations, surveys and marketing firms.
