Utah Democratic Superdelegates Endorse Candidates

Two So Far for Clinton, One for Obama
(KCPW News) Utah Democrats handed 14 of the state's national delegates to Barack Obama and another nine delegates to Hillary Clinton in yesterday's primary election. But there are six more superdelegates to account for - Democratic party officials who can vote for anyone at the national convention. One of those is National Commiteeman and former Congressman Bill Orton, who says Obama captivated him when he spoke at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Orton says Senator Obama reminds him of John F. Kennedy.
Two of Utah's superdelegates are on Hillary Clinton's statewide steering committee - former state Senator Karen Hale and National Committeewoman Helen Langan.
State Party Chair Wayne Holland has not yet endorsed either candidate, but says it's important that he represent who Utahns want to be elected. The Republican party does not use superdelegates. Mitt Romney won all of Utah's 36 Republican delegates in a winner-take-all system.

Ms. Hale and Ms. Langan I admire you for your promise to vote for Hillary Clinton at the Democratic Convention. I will admire you even more if you choose to keep your promise. 39% of us voted for Senator Clinton. We know she is the best candidate.

I have been a loyal Democrat all My life. If you toss away your "Super Delegate" votes on Sen. Obama, I will break ranks and vote Independent. ie;, Nader. It is Hillary's turn..she has paid her dues and has the experience. Obama has not done the former nor earned the latter. Clinton for President!

Comment: Mr. Orton, I was unenthusiastic about you as a congressperson. Perhaps we have both changed.
Question(s): Ms. Langan and Ms. Hale, whoellected you super delegates? There should be no such thing...even in the form of Mr. Orton, who I happen to agree with in this instance. One person, one vote. Period. Amen.
