Officials Say They'll Continue Fight To Bring Stadium To Sandy

Sandy City officials say they're not giving up in the effort to bring a soccer stadium to the south side of the Salt Lake Valley - even though Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon has declined to provide $35 million in public funding for the project.
Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan says the project is important to the economic development of the City, and he plans to work to come up with a funding solution for the stadium.
Sandy's Economic Development Director Randy Sant says Corroon's decision was based on premature economic information, and he hopes to resolve funding issues soon to move the project forward.
Officials with Real Salt Lake are declining comment at this time, saying they are focusing on an upcoming game this weekend - but do plan to hold a press conference either Friday or Saturday to address the issue.
