Midday Utah begins after the 9 a.m. news
A survey released yesterday reveals both the mind-set and the outlook for small business owners during an economic recession. Conducted by Intuit Quickbooks, it shows, for instance, that many owners expect to thrive and grow, despite the impending downturn. Here to discuss the details is Rhonda Abrams, a small business industry expert and author of several books including The Successful Business Plan: Secrets and Strategies, and Successful Business Research: Straight to the Numbers You Need -- Fast!
Stephen McClellan says that while the stock market is not quite 20% below last year's peaks, just wait. If you are a worried investor, you might be interested to read his new book titled Full of Bull: Do What Wall Street Does, Not What It Says, to Make Money in the Market. Stephen McClellan was an analyst for better than 30 years at places like Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers. He was ranked on the Institutional Investor All-American Team 19 consecutive years, The Wall Street Journal Poll for seven years, and is in The Wall Street Journal's Hall of Fame. His earlier books include The Coming Computer Shakeout: Winners, Losers and Survivors.
