Nader on Utah's Ballot
Aug 04, 2008 by Elizabeth Ziegler
(KCPW News) This morning, Independent Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader applied at the Utah Capital Building to have his name added as a third-party candidate on Utah's November ballot. In the lieutenant governor's office, surrounded by local media, Nader took the oath of candidacy.
Nader had to file in person because he missed the filing deadline in March, whereas Obama and McCain had proxies file for them. Nader addressed reporters, repeating his presidential platform. He pledged to work with Congress to crack down on corporate corruption and introduce a living wage, tax breaks for the poor, universal healthcare, and electoral reform. As a third-party candidate often maligned by Democrats as a quote "spoiler," he says the term is derogatory and the concept amounts to political bigotry.
"We don't talk about taking votes away," Nader says. We're all trying to get more votes. And if we are all equally given to run for election, none of us should be considered spoilers, because we're all spoilers. We're all trying to get votes from one another."
Nader says recent polls indicate he might take more votes away from McCain than from Obama. So far, the three presidential candidates are the only ones on Utah's ballot. Nader's name will appear on ballots in 45 states.

I applaud the Nader/Gonzalez campaign for taking the two corporate candidates head-on in the state of Utah. Now the fine people of Utah don't have to feel pressured to waste their vote on a flip-flopper like Obama or a perpetual war monger like McCain.
Nader has the experience, dedication, and tenacity needed to guide our country upward and onward out of this rut.
Vote Nader/Gonzalez in '08!

Lets not be foolish. To truley waste your vote would be a vote for Nader while I agree Obama is a flip floper and a true radical danger for the well being of our great nation. Nader is neither the answear, nor a viable candidate! He's not even on the ballet in 5 states, makes it hard to win don't ya think. AS for ending the war in Iraq non of the candidates are truely going to do that. Its a politacal point that they think will help them win. Ending the war in Afghanastan is purly a dream of the simple minded and as for no war in Pakistan or Iran my question is what should we do wait for another 9/11. While civilian casualties are a sad fact of war the ones in Iraq, Pakistan, or else where don't have nearly the impact on me as the civilians killed in 9/11. Remember we are not the ones that started this war but we should finish it!

Support real change in what is supossed to be a turning point election. Ralph Nader unlike the Demohawks and Republicans supports:
1 ending the Iraq war AND the occuption in Iraq within a 6 month timetable2 was against the war in Afghanistan that has resulted in the death of more Afghan civilians than 9/11. 3 no war in Pakistan4 no war in Iran5 cutting excessive military spending already >50% of gov. spending whn US is in debt & healthcare & infrastrucure repair is underfunded6 no wastin g US taxpayers money funding Israel's miliatry annually o pander for AIPAC votes7 supports singl payer universal healthcare8 investing in renewable energy (not nuclear)9 supports Ni4D
