Wrap-Up of County Council Meeting with Randy Horiuchi
Aug 13, 2008 by Jeff Robinson
Salt Lake County's jail will soon get some relief. Yesterday, the county council voted to re-open the shuttered Oxbow Jail to save the county from having to release so many inmates early. And this November, Salt Lake County voters will get to decide whether to support a public bond that would provide Hogle Zoo with funding for expansion. The bond isn't nearly as much as the original $65 million the zoo was asking for, but it comes with a much less strenuous fundraising requirement for the zoo. KCPW's Jeff Robinson caught up with at-large councilman Randy Horiuchi to find out the terms of the new bond and whether he thinks it will pass.
