Health Insurance Industry Executive Advocates for Federal Policy Changes

A Conversation with Karen Ignagni

(KCPW News) Local business owners and care providers who are aggravated by the state of health insurance coverage shared their struggles with an industry executive this week. They gathered at the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday to speak and listen to Karen Ignagni, president and CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans, a trade association representing 1,300 insurance companies. Ignagni was in town as part of the organization's Campaign for an American Solution, a nationwide tour collecting health care stories and sharing what the association itself is advocating to Congress. KCPW's Jeff Robinson caught up with Ignagni after she heard from a number of frustrated Utahns.
