The Hope Benefit is organized by the Friends of the Senior Charity Care Foundation for the purpose of supporting charity care for seniors in care settings who cannot afford the total cost of their care and/or services. The Senior Charity Care Foundation uses the proceeds of the Hope Benefit to improve the quality of life for our seniors in care facilities by fulfilling unmet essential needs.
Each year the Friends select a Continuum of Caring Award recipient who has demonstrated strong support for the senior population. The Friends of the Foundation selected Sonnie Yudell, program manager at the Utah Division of Aging and Adult Services, to receive the 2013 Continuum of Caring Award. Her dedicated work in aging, including being a founding member of the Utah Coalition for Caregiver Support, has helped shape the scope of aging in Utah.
