Community Discussion Night: Protecting Our Air from Tar Sands Refining @ Day Riverside Library

Tar sands mining, and refining—one of the world’s dirtiest industries—affects some communities disproportionately. Tar sands refining has already begun in North Salt Lake, and if mining in Utah is allowed to proceed—for the first time in the U.S.—the refining will continue to increase on the Wasatch Front. Refinery-side communities in the Rose Park and North Salt Lake area already deal with some of the worst air quality on the nation on a daily basis. If you live there, you already know this. The question is, what can we do to protect our air from tar sands refining together?

Join Peaceful Uprising for a community discussion on creating a healthy and just world by protecting our air from tar sands refining. We’re working to create solutions to this human health nightmare, while forging a resilient community that’s empowered to take action!

Can’t make it on August 29th? Get in touch with Melanie@PeacefulUprising.org to arrange a discussion with your own neighborhood or organization! We look forward to talking with you.
