Join Continuing Education at the University of Utah for Fly Fishing 101, beginning Saturday, August 4th. Designed for the novice, this basic hands-on course explores the art and mechanics of fly fishing, including equipment, safety, knots, entomology, and, of course, casting. Students will learn some basics in the classroom then travel to a local river for the day to test their new skills. You are responsible for providing your rod and reel (can be rented at local fly shops), fishing license, sack lunch, sunglasses (essential for eye protection), and either waders and boots or clothes and shoes that can get wet. A selection of flies and other tackle will be provided for the river day. This class is limited to 10. Tuition $119.00. Advanced registration is required.
