The evening will include music, fun, food, laughter, as well as Silent and Live Auctions starting at 8:00 pm. The theme of the event is What Changes the World Starts Here: Educating Women, Educating Utah.

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) at the University of Utah serves as the central resource for educational and support services for women. Honoring the complexities of women’s identities, the WRC facilitates choices and changes through programs, counseling, and training grounded in a commitment to advance social justice and equality. In keeping with the mission of the WRC the goal of the evening is to Retain, Educate, and Graduate Self Sufficient Women.

The theme of the fundraiser is connected directed to the mission of the center. The theme What Changes the World Starts Here: Educating Women, Educating Utah includes an awareness campaign of the discrepancies between men and women’s pay. As shown in a local news article headline, Utah’s wage gap for women is the third largest in U.S. Wages for Utah women remain considerably lower than for men, which is costing families throughout the state thousands of dollars each year. Women in Utah are paid 69 cents for every dollar paid to men which amounting to a yearly gap of $14,446. And with nearly 85,500 Utah households led by women, the new data show that these gaps harm families.

Tickets are offered at $60 per person and will be available at the door or online at
