Innovation Hub to air on KCPW

logo3Beginning July 5, 2014 KCPW will air Innovation Hub, Public Radio International’s newest show.  It will air every Saturday at 2 PM after Bob Edwards Weekend.   Tech Nation will move from that Saturday slot to Sunday at 3 PM.

From the economy to education, healthcare to urban renewal, “Innovation Hub” explores the forces that are changing our world. How is culture altering us and our children? What will it take to stay competitive in the world marketplace? How will new research profoundly affect our health?

Host Kara Miller talks to today’s most creative, cutting-edge thinkers, including Marissa Mayer, Jared Diamond, Sal Khan, Sherry Turkle, and Brian Greene.

kara_miller_MAIN Kara Miller is the host and executive editor of “Innovation Hub,” which she launched in 2011 after hosting a segment on Boston’s PBS station, WGBH. The segment focused on young people who had decided to create their own businesses, and she was overwhelmed by emails about creative start-ups. Initially, “Innovation Hub” concentrated on the Boston area, but the show soon widened its net and attracted guests like Jared Diamond, Sal Khan, Marissa Mayer, and David Pogue.

Kara’s goal is to bring innovation to a popular audience – and to talk with those who are shaping the future. What will education or healthcare or the economy look like down the road? How will our lives change?

Kara first worked in the media as a columnist and TV analyst. In 2008, she started doing commentary on WGBH-TV and, in 2010, began hosting on WGBH radio. Currently, she contributes to “The Takeaway,” WGBH’s “Morning Edition,” and WGBH-TV. Her writing has appeared in The Boston Globe, The National Journal, The Boston Herald, TheAtlantic.com, The Huffington Post, and The International Herald Tribune.

Kara holds a Ph.D. from Tufts and a B.A. from Yale. She has previously taught at Babson College and the University of Massachusetts.
