Thupten Jinpa has devoted much of his life to studying Buddhist metaphysics and the power of the mind. He links meditation with spiritual enlightenment, but he’s also finding how this mindfulness can be seen as neuroplasticity in the brain. On Thursday, he joins us to discuss common ground between Buddhist tradition and Western science.

Guest:

  •  Dr. Thupten Jinpa, Tibetan Buddhist scholar and translator for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

Jinpa presents the Sterling M. McMurrin Lecture “Charting a Path: Buddhism and Neuroscience in Dialogue” Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m., Utah Museum of Fine Arts, 410 Campus Center Dr., Salt Lake City. The event, sponsored by the Tanner Humanities Center, is free and open to the public. For more information, call 801-581-7989.
