Segment 1:

After five years of construction, nearly $2 billion and a lot of hype, City Creek Center is finally opening for business. On Thursday, we’ll talk about the history of the project, the investment by the LDS Church and what the upscale retail development means for downtown and beyond.

  • Christopher Smart, Salt Lake Tribune
  • Stephen Goldsmith, former Salt Lake City Planning Director
  • Bob Springmeyer, Bonneville Research

Segment 2:

Film festivals aren’t just for grown-ups anymore. The 2012 Tumbleweeds Film Festival opens this weekend with Disneynature’s “Chimpanzee,” from the award-winning filmmakers of “Earth.” On Thursday, we’ll find out about the art of making films for youth and the young-at-heart.

  • Patrick Hubley, Utah Film Center

The Tumbleweeds Film Festival runs March 23-25 with screenings at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and The City Library. Tickets for all screenings are $6. More information at 801-355-ARTS (2787).
