Segment 1:

Thirty years ago, Dr. Chase Peterson and two other University of Utah physicians implanted the world’s first artificial heart into a retired dentist, Dr. Barney Clark. The landmark surgery is one of many accomplishments in Peterson’s storied career as a doctor, academic and administrator. Peterson has written a new memoir and on Monday, he joins us to talk about his roots and his extraordinary life.

Segment 2:

For its annual fundraiser, Art Access sells plates. But these aren’t just any dinner ceramics. The plates become small canvases for over 130 local artists and feature everything from landscape to pop art to photographic emulsion and more. On Monday, we hear about the annual 300 Plates event and how art enriches the lives of those with disabilities and special needs.
