CityViews 5/16/12: Bus 52/The Ventures

Segment 1:

Finding stories of community and connection. That’s how five 20-somethings are spending 2012. In January, the young college grads loaded up in an old school bus and launched Bus 52, a video journalism project that is traveling through the 48 contiguous states collecting the stories of ordinary Americans who are dealing with challenges in innovative ways. Bus 52 is now in Salt Lake City and on Wednesday, three of the teammates join us to talk about their multi-media adventure.

Segment 2:

The Ventures formed in 1958 and by 1960, the surf band had made a name for themselves. With hits like the theme of “Hawaii Five-O,” “Secret Agent Man” and “Wipe Out,” The Ventures is one of the best-selling instrumental rock bands in music history. On Wednesday, drummer and Salt Lake City resident Leon Taylor joins us to talk about The Ventures style and legacy.
