Segment 2:
Verbatim theater follows the premise that truth can be as powerful as fiction. Instead of dramatizing imaginary tales, verbatim theater lifts quotes from interviews and stages real-life reaction to political events, natural disasters and other truthful events. On Wednesday, we explore what makes verbatim theater so compelling.
Guest:
- Jared Larkin, Westminster College theater professor
Verbatim Theatre performances will be staged Tuesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 31 at 8 p.m. in the Dumke Student Theatre, Westminster College, Salt Lake City. Tickets for the benefit performance are $5, and 100 percent of ticket sales will go directly to the Rape Recovery Center and the Salt Lake City branch of the YWCA.
