From materials to genres to themes, the artist Pilar Pobil doesn’t like boundaries. She sculpts figurines from clay, she uses oils to paint portraits, she revels in watercolors for still life and landscapes. The exuberance and intensity of her work spills out from the canvas onto the frames which she frequently decorates with swirls and sparkles. On Thursday, Pobil joins us to talk about the emotional component of art and why she considers art a way of life.
