But climate change, a booming population and competing interests are threatening the waterway. A new film highlights the issues and supports an ethical shift in thinking about water distribution. On Monday, we hear about “Watershed” and the hard issues about water facing the American West.

A free public screening of “Watershed” will be presented Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E., 400 S., Salt Lake City.
A panel discussion following the film will feature director Mark Decena; producer Jamie Redford; Sue Bellagamba, The Nature Conservancy; Gary Wockner, director, “Save The Colorado;” moderated by Dave Livermore, The Nature Conservancy.
Segment 2:
The push is on to build a better car battery and Utah State University is a major player in the effort. Earlier this month, the institution got a $3 million grant to develop vehicle batteries that last longer and cost less. On Monday, we’ll learn more about the technologies and research that could make a better battery.
