Dogs can roam free in seven areas of Salt Lake City and officials are considering adding another five off-leash areas to meet the demand from dog owners. The city is also looking at ways to improve how off-leash parks are maintained, including requiring off-leash tags and recruiting volunteers to help enforce the new rules. Citizens had a chance to learn more and sound off on the proposed dog master plan at a community forum held Wednesday, Oct. 24. On Thursday, we’ll hear an excerpt from the forum.
- Ann Ober, Salt Lake City
- Florence Reynolds, Salt Lake City Public Utilities

“Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill” is a powerful and moving tribute to the great jazz singer, Billie Holiday. Though Lady Day sings the blues and recounts some of the low points in her painful life, there’s joy and humor in this production and, of course, that voice. On Thursday, we talk about the larger-than-life talent that is Billie Holiday and the memories that haunted this complicated artist.
- Dee-Dee Darby Duffin, Billie Holiday
- Teresa Sanderson, Director
