It’s day six of our Slamdance and Sundance Coverage from Main Street, Park City. Did you catch MISS AMERICANA on Netflix yet? It came out last Friday, January 31st on the streaming service, while the last screening at Sundance took place Sunday in Salt Lake City. We spoke with director Lana Wilson at festival about her film on the American icon, Taylor Swift. Then, we are joined by filmmakers from two different animation-based documentaries. From the Slamdance film, ANIMATION OUTLAWS, we speak to director Kat Alioshin and one of the film’s subjects, Spike Decker of Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation. From the Sundance film, HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY, we speak to first-time feature filmmakers, Ron Cicero and Kimo Easterwood about John Kricfalusi, the Ren and Stimpy Show, and the addition of the controversy behind Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice. The last segment concludes the episode in a conversation with filmmaker, Romola Garai, on her feature debut, AMULET, joined by her leads, Carla Juri and Alec Secareanu.
