We talk with Deborah Spar, the president of Barnard, about why there are still so few women in tech, and what we can do about it. Then, we hear how Estee Lauder changed the face of American business. Plus, Dr. Paula Hammond joins us to discuss her pioneering cancer research at MIT and how she’s using nanotechnology to improve our health.

Guests include: Barnard President Debora Spar, Harvard Business School historianNancy Koehn and MIT professor Dr. Paula Hammond.

Innovation Hub is the brainchild of host and executive editor, Kara Miller. She launched the show on WGBH-Boston in 2011. Kara also contributes to “The Takeaway,” WGBH’s “Morning Edition,” and “Greater Boston”.

As a host, Kara has interviewed Deepak Chopra, Sherry Turkle,  Jared Diamond, Sal Khan, David Pogue, Michael Sandel, Brian Greene, and Marissa Mayer, among others. Her writing has appeared in The Boston Globe, The National Journal, The Boston Herald, TheAtlantic.com, The Huffington Post, and The International Herald Tribune.  Kara holds a Ph.D. from Tufts and a B.A. from Yale.
