On Saturday, September 19th 2020, Income Movement will be hosting its Second Annual Basic Income March, as the culminating event for the International Basic Income Week. Last year’s event was a huge success! There were 30 Basic Income March events in 30 cities across the world, and a total of 10,000 people marched in events big and small. This year is shaping up to be even larger! This is an opportunity for supporters of basic income across the globe to demonstrate to their communities, their leaders and to the press the strength and growth of the movement for a basic income.
The global pandemic has made it abundantly clear that our economy is broken, and support for UBI is at a historic high. It is time to recognize that we can design a system that works for everyone. We believe in a future where everyone has access to financial stability and our fight for Universal Basic Income will bring economic justice to everyone. With the pandemic in mind, Income Movement is getting creative with different activities for Basic Income supporters to organize and participate in that protect our communities and advocate for social distancing. We have decided to do a street corner protest this year to stay socially distanced while maintaining as large of an impact as possible. Meet at The Capitol Building.
We hope to see you there! RSVP here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/ogden-basic-income-march
