'LABELED' Sound OFF @ Natural History Museum of Utah | Salt Lake City | Utah | United States

Break the ice. Break the stigma.

The ‘Labeled’ Film Festival invites you to a free event, Sound OFF – A unique film and dance party for college and university students. The comfortable social environment encourages discussion on a normally taboo subject – mental illness.

Ask questions. Question the stereotypes.

1 in 5 adults in the US suffer from severe or persistent mental illness each year. Factoring anxiety, depression, behavior regulation, and thoughts of suicide, mental illness happens to people you know.

Create conversation. Create compassion.

Get involved and help us form a community of peer support and intervention. Let friends know you’ve got their back, whatever life challenges bring.

Drop your guard. Drop the labels.

Someone close to you may be suffering in silence with a mental illness. Insensitive “labels” perpetuate stereotypes, myths and stigmas.

Sound OFF? Sounds great!

But hey, let’s keep it light, huh? Come and check out our unique dance party powered by headphones playing 3 channels with a choice of music or film. Watch, dance or discuss. Films–shorts will project on the walls of the dance hall. If you feel like chatting just remove the headphones and talk with friends. Capture the moment of the film festival with the Slow Motion Time Machine. Share experiences and meet mental health advocates. Reserve headset today. Admission to Sound OFF is free. For the full festival schedule go to www.labeledfilmfestival.org. Like, share, follow, and comment this event and @Labeled Film Festival.
