Katha Pollitt is well known for her wit and her keen sense of both the ridiculous and the sublime. Her award-winning “Subject to Debate” column appears every other week in The Nation. The Washington Post called her column “the best place to go for original thinking on the left,” and the column is frequently reprinted in newspapers across the country. Pollitt has also written essays and book reviews for The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Harper’s, Glamour, Mother Jones, and The New York Times. In her most recent book, Pro: Reclaiming Abortion Rights, she takes on personhood, reaffirms women’s life and health, and discusses why abortion can be good for society.
