IMG_4292The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Air date: January 28, 2015) – Salt Lake City’s Housing First program to manage homelessness has received national recognition recently.   In fact, Utah has lead the nation in reducing chronic homelessness – which is defined as long-term or repeated homelessness.  Recently advocates and service providers working on homeless issues for Utah spoke at the University of Utah.  The speakers include: Mike Minkevitch, Executive Director of the Road Home in downtown Salt Lake City; Pamela Atkinson, longtime advocate for the homeless and refugees in Utah; Elizabeth Buhler, the Homeless Services Coordinator for SLC; Tamera Kohler, Director of State Community Services office; and Joseph Hardy, a former homeless client of the Road Home.  The panel was moderated by Former Mayor of Salt Lake City, Palmer DePaulis. This discussion was recorded on January 15, 2015.

Hosted by Anthony Scoma, the program highlights and contextualizes the forums presented by the Hinckley Institute of Politics every fall and spring semester at the University of Utah.
