The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour: The Tyranny of Oil

Play

The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Air date: April 27/30, 2016) — Leif Wenar is author of Blood Oil: Tyrants, Violence, and the Rules that Run the World.  He is currently the Chair of Philosophy and Law at King’s College in London. Wenar argues that the proposition of no longer buying oil from repressive authoritarian regimes seems like fantasy, but that society has been overcome other immoral activities such as slavery and apartheid in the past.  He says our addiction to imported oil from repressive regimes now is not unlike those barbarous and immoral practices.
