Salt Lake City mayoral primary focusing on environmental issues

On Thursday, August 1st, KCPW aired a primary debate between the eight candidates vying to become mayor of Utah’s capital city. The event was hosted by the Utah Chapter of the Sierra Club and focused largely on environmental issues facing Salt Lake City. It was moderated by Natalie Gochnour, director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah (and one of the hosts of the KCPW political debate program Both Sides of the Aisle). The primary election takes place August 13th. After that the field will be narrowed to two candidates.
