(KCPW News) For Asha Hagi Elmi, illiteracy is not just an educational issue; it’s a human rights issue. The Somali activist has been involved in restoring peace and order to the devastated, war-torn country as a member of its transitional parliament and as the founder and chair of the Save Somali Women and Children organization. Tonight, Elmi will speak at the Salt Lake City Main Library about her experiences. She spoke with KCPW’s Jeff Robinson about the mission of her organization.
