Simonsen Still Ahead of Adams in Council Race

11.17.2009 by Jeff Robinson

(KCPW News) After all the absentee and provisional ballots were counted, Salt Lake City Councilman Soren Simonsen still holds a slim lead over his challenger in the 2009 election, Lisa Ramsey Adams.

Preliminary results from election night put Simonsen ahead by nine votes.  Now with all the votes tallied, he’s ahead by 13 votes.

But his lead isn’t large enough to avoid a re-count.

Simonsen has served one term on the city council.  He was elected in 2005.
