Higher Ed Sees Largest Enrollment Increase Ever

(KCPW News) New figures show that Utah’s public colleges and universities experienced the highest enrollment growth ever in the past year. It jumped by more than 13,000 students altogether at the state’s 10 public institutes of higher education between the Spring 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters, an increase of 9.5 percent. What will be the impact on Utah’s strained colleges and universities, when the best case scenario for the budget next year would have higher education funding stay flat? To find out, KCPW’s Jeff Robinson spoke with Commissioner of Higher Education William Sederburg.
