Chaffetz Wants Govt. to Sell Off Excess Public Lands

(KCPW News) While state legislators are trying to seize public lands from the federal government through eminent domain, Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz is testing a different approach. Today, he introduced a bill to require the Department of the Interior to auction off about 3.3 million acres of public lands that were identified as “available for disposal” in a Clinton Administration report back in 1997. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson asked Chaffetz what he’s trying to accomplish with the “Disposal of Excess Federal Lands Act.”
