Author Speaks About Urban Farming Experience at Main Library

(KCPW News) Urban farming has gained popularity here in Salt Lake City, with the city and county governments making it easier in recent years to raise backyard chickens or keep beehives. Novella Carpenter knows all about urban farming. The author of Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer keeps a farm outside her apartment complex in Oakland, California – considered one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. Carpenter spoke at the Salt Lake City Main Library Auditorium on Thursday, June 10.
