Utah Author Publishes Biography of Artist Pablo O’Higgins
09.08.2010 by Jeff Robinson
(KCPW News) Muralist and graphic political artist Pablo O’Higgins was known in Mexico for his depictions of the working class during a revolutionary period in the country’s history. But he’s less well known where he was born: Salt Lake City, Utah. Author Susan Vogel spent decades studying O’Higgins’ life before publishing the first biography of the artist, titled Becoming Pablo O’Higgins, earlier this year. And tonight, she’ll speak at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson asked Vogel what motivated her to study the American-Mexican artist.
Vogel will speak at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City tonight at 6:30 p.m. The museum’s exhibition of O’Higgins’ work runs through September 19th.
