Chaffetz Infuriated by Colbert Invitation
(KCPW News) Republican Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz is seething over the decision to invite satirical Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert to testify before the House immigration subcommittee today. Although he’s a member of the subcommittee, Chaffetz chose to fly back to Utah early and skip the hearing.
“I mean, he’s the best fake newscaster out there, and if they’re gonna have a fake hearing, OK, well whatever, I didn’t need to participate in that skit,” he told KCPW.
Chaffetz calls the event “embarrassing” for the Democrats, especially considering how he feels about the subcommittee’s other accomplishments, or lack thereof.
“In the 21 months that I’ve been there, being on the subcommittee, having sponsored many pieces of legislation and resolutions dealing with immigration, never, never did we have a meeting to discuss a serious piece of immigration law. Never!” said Chaffetz.

This is an example of the corruption rampant in Washington, DC. To make a mockery of a hearing illustrates decadence and the arrogance of an out of touch body politic. I think Zoe Lofgren is bored with her decadent life and needed some attention. She should resign.
Gee, Congressman Chaffetz Gets It! Too bad one of Utah’s senators, Orrin Hatch, is carrying water for the “DREAM Act” illegal alien AMNESTY! Sure, Hatch voted against cloture on the defense authorization act, but that’s only b/c he thinks the “DREAM” [actually, Nightmare!] Act should be brought up as a separate bill. Watch out for this slippery RINO next week, when Dick Durbin and Reid do exactly that!
As for Chaffetz’s role on the Immigration subcommittee, it’s far from thankless…Americans will be grateful to you if you merely succeed in stopping the Open Borders and Cheap Labor lobbies from doing further harm while the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Trioka remains in power.
Kudoes to Rep. Chaffetz! I’ve watched this young man since he wass elected and he’s going far. I hope that he stays on the committees dealing with immigration. The old guard who are looking for votes and cheap labor need to know how much they are contributing to the destruction of this country. They evidently don’t care that there grandchilden and decendents to come will live in a third world mess of their ancestor’s foolish and greedy decisions.
