(KCPW News) Today, the president of the Human Rights Campaign will join localgay rights leaders in delivering a petition they say has nearly 150,000 signatures to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It calls on Apostle Boyd K. Packer to reject his comment that homosexuality is “impure and unnatural,” and his position that sexual orientation can be changed. Advocates believe such comments lead to anti-gay bullying and suicides. Today’s event starting at the Utah Pride Center in Salt Lake City comes the day after National Coming Out Day. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson spoke with Valerie Larabee, Executive Director of the Utah Pride Center.
