(KCPW News) A new study released by the Williams Institute at UCLA quantifies the impact of discrimination on LGBT Utah residents. Using data from an Equality Utah survey, it reports that more than 40 percent of gay Utahns say they’ve been denied a job, not promoted, or fired for their sexual orientation, while two-thirds of transgender Utahns say the same because of their gender identity. University of Utah Law Professor Cliff Rosky is a co-author of the study. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson asked him if this study will make it more likely that the Utah Legislature will pass nondiscrimination protections for LGBT residents this year.
