Sheldon Killpack Pleads Guilty to DUI

(KCPW News) A year after former Utah Senate Majority Leader Sheldon Killpack was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, he pleaded guilty Wednesday to a class B misdemeanor.  Paul Parker with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office says he was awarded no special treatment.

“Mr. Killpack was treated really just as any other first time driving under the influence offender. He was given the same offers.  He was talked about or treated just the same,” says Parker.  “The sentence after he pleaded guilty was the standard first time offender sentence.”

Judge Shauna Graves Robertson sentenced Killpack to 180 days in jail, though that time was suspended. Instead, he’ll be required to perform 48 hours of community service, attend a victim-impact panel, take a DUI offender course, and pay a $1,350 fine.  An additional charge of failure to stay in one lane, a class C misdemeanor, was dropped.

“This was a standard offer. The greatest by far offense was the DUI and he pleaded guilty to that as charged,” Parker said.

Killpack’s attorneys had previously argued that the Utah Highway Patrol didn’t have sufficient cause to pull him over in the first place. The former lawmaker resigned from the Utah Senate shortly after his arrest.

Some companies offer discounts to motorists who drive a lower than average number of miles a year. Low mileage discounts can also apply to drivers who car pool to work. “Clearance Auto Insurance” is the place you should be if you need auto insurance at the best price

  2. Really need tips from professional in auto insurane. I’m aware a number people who transmitted their information into one of the many “online automobile insurance quotes” and after this they’ve already solicitors all around them, email messages, on the phone, junk mail including one case of Social Security Id theft. Therefore my real question is: Are these online auto insurance quotes truly risk-free? Doesn’t it seem appropriate to remain with a local car insurance agent you can do business with both over the phone or perhaps in person.

  3. Does anybody have knowledge about Auto Insurance and also how did you find their service ?
